It began yesterday (23) and continues until tomorrow (25) the 25th edition of the International Leather and Footwear Salon – SICC, which brings together the main Brazilian brands of footwear and accessories in Gramado (RS). Projections of specialized consultancy IEMI – Institute of Industrial Studies and Marketing indicate that even in a troubled year, the sector will increase its production by 3.5%, passing from the 855 million produced in 2015 to 885 million this year.
In terms of profitability, growth is even more expressive. IEMI projects 12% increase in revenue. The national market will continue to be the main destination of production, with an indication of reheating consumption. Local retail should increase its sales from 767 million to 783 million pairs. Exports should also grow at a sharp level, making Brazilian brands reach a more expressive number of markets.
SICC will be responsible for presenting to retail the spring and summer collections 2016/2017. The station is responsible for 70% of national production, and the fair is traditionally a time to forward the sales of part of that amount. "We know that this will not be an easy year for the Brazilian economy, but retail knows that it will need to invest in fashion, in showcases with novelties, to ensure the year-end sales. The SICC has a privileged date in this sense, guaranteeing the products that will be marketed by the shopkeeper in the second half," explains Merkator Feiras e Eventos, Frederico Pletsch.
In this edition will be 350 exhibitors, which together represent 1.4 thousand brands. This guarantees SICC a representation of what is manufactured in the country above 80%. The exposed brands in Serra Park give the retailer options in products for different segments, with male, female, sports and children's footwear and accessories. "This representation is fundamental to satisfy the needs of shopkeepers. We were able to add in one place what is best produced in the country", says the director of the promoter of the fair.
