Unpublished research was done by Fecomércio de São Paulo. Women buy only 20% more than men.
Inflation can also hinder a habit of consumption that has already turned national mania: buy shoe. It's a billion dollar market all over the world, not just for women. In 2014, Brazilians spent R $ 22 billion with shoes, according to an unprecedented survey that Fecomércio did in São Paulo.
"This is equivalent practically to the entire budget of Bolsa Família 2014. So it is a very expressive data with this type of expenditure", says economic advisor to Fecomércio-SP, Altamiro Carvalho.
Do you know the investments made to leave all stadiums ready for World Cup? With the value that the Brazilian spends on shoe, he would do everything again, three times or reform the Maracanã 18 times.
Shoe shopping isn't just about rent. It's practically a national hypnosis. The "A" class buys a kilo of beans and nine pairs of shoe. The "C" class for each kilo of beans are two pairs of shoe. Of the R $ 22 billion Brazilians spent with shoe, R $ 12 billion are women and R $ 10 billion are men.
"The vanity is a cultural item of the Brazilian and we have a very large offer that is in types of model options as in prices. This facilitates the acquisition of these items," says Altamiro.
The Brazilian buys more shoes than beans, milk, vegetables and bread. That thing women have a lot more shoe than men is an injustice. Women spend only a little more: 20%.
